Fix 10 incorrect Linux commands
Prepare 30-command Linux reference sheet
Working project_workspace + command reference
Build a reproducible Linux workspace and demonstrate safe filesystem and permission handling for VLSI work.
- Open a terminal in your home directory.
- Use project_workspace as the root directory for all Week 1 work.
- Keep a terminal transcript or screenshots as evidence.
- Run pwd, ls and cd to confirm your starting location.
- Create project_workspace with rtl, tb, scripts, logs and docs subdirectories.
- Create sample files, then practise cp, mv and rm without leaving the workspace.
- Inspect files with cat, less, head and tail.
- Apply and verify file permissions with chmod and ls -l.
- Search and organize sample .v, .sv and .log files by extension.
Correct the 10 incorrect Linux commands listed by the instructor and explain what was wrong with each command.
- project_workspace directory tree
- terminal output showing navigation and permissions
- 30-command Linux reference sheet
- Workspace can be recreated without notes
- Commands run without path errors
- Permissions are demonstrated and explained
